Several days after Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan's said that he would file a defamation case against actors Trisha Krishnan, Chiranjeevi, and Khushboo Sundar, the Madras High Court on December 22, refused to grant him permission to proceed with the lawsuit. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on Khan, calling his defamation suit "a publicity stunt".

Trisha. Now, according to Bar and Bench, the Madras High Court imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on him and directed the actor to deposit the amount with the Adyar Cancer Institute, Chennai.

The court also mentioned that the way Trisha and the other actors reacted to Khan's statement, was how "any normal person would have".

On December 12, Justice N Sathish Kumar reprimanded Mansoor Ali Khan for his sexist comments against Trisha. He added that Mansoor should know how to behave in public, especially when people look upon actors as role models.
