The Delhi Police has found inconsistencies in the responses of Jacqueline Fernandez and Pinky Irani, both of whom were summoned by the Economic Offences Wing on Wednesday in connection with an extortion case linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, sources said. The senior officials will discuss Jacqueline's statements amongst themselves before deciding on when to summon the actor again.
Actor Jacqueline Fernandez joined the probe after being issued a third summons and was questioned for nearly eight hours in
the extortion case today. She was accompanied by Pinky Irani, who was tasked to introduce Jacqueline Fernandez to the conman and was allegedly paid in crores of rupees for the job.
During the first round of questioning, the Delhi Police found inconsistencies in their responses and is likely to confront them again.
Initially, the statements of Pinky Irani and Jacqueline Fernandez were recorded separately, then they were confronted and questioned together to get more clarity in the case.
