Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh took his Dil-Luminati concert to Chandigarh on December 14, dedicating the event to the youngest world chess champion, 18-year-old Dommaraju Gukesh. During the concert, he also referenced the famous dialogue from Allu Arjun's Pushpa: The Rise.
Diljit shared glimpses of his Chandigarh concert on social media. In a video, he was seen interacting with the audience from the stage. Praising Gukesh, who became the youngest world champion in history on
Thursday by defeating China’s Ding Liren to claim the FIDE Chess World Championship title, Diljit said, “I dedicate the show to Gukesh because he had thought of becoming a world champion, and he became one. Problems come; I am also facing them every day.”
At the concert, Diljit didn’t shy away from delivering his iconic line, “Punjabi aa gaye oye” (Punjabis are here). He noted that he had echoed the line everywhere, including at Coachella, so he couldn’t miss saying it in Chandigarh.
