Director-turned-actor Farhan Akhtar recently opened up about his favourite Salim-Javed movie, Kranti. He was speaking at the trailer launch of the soon-to-release Prime Video series, Angry Young Men.
When asked about his favourite film by the writers, Farhan said, "I have watched all their work umpteen number of times. Be it Sholay, be it Deewar, be it many films. But the one that I have watched the most that they have worked on was Kranti, which I have watched, I don't know, maybe 300 times. It was highly entertaining."
"I don't know if they will be happy
that that was my first choice. This documentary is aptly titled Angry Young Men because they brought their life experiences, their identity and their voice to the characters that we have all come to know as Vijay and it left a lasting impression on all of us," the filmmaker signed off.
For the unversed, Kranti starred Manoj Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Shashi Kapoor, Parveen Babi and Hema Malini among others in pivotal roles. It was directed by Manoj Kumar.
Meanwhile, Salim and Javed's Prime Video documentary-series, Angry Young Men, will begin streaming from August 20.
