Actor Govinda, who was one of the most sought-after stars of the 90s, was often absent from home due to his busy shooting schedule, as shared by his daughter Tina Ahuja. She also revealed that her father was very particular about her figure and would often tell her to lose weight.

In a recent interview with Hauterrfly, Tina recalled her father's concern about her physical appearance during her teenage years, saying, "For my teens, my father was very particular about my figure and weight. He used to tell me 'lose your weight, your stomach is growing out'."

She also claimed that Govinda believed "girls should look beautiful and have their weight in check."

Tina recounted an incident during a shoot in Switzerland where she gained weight after enjoying the local milk and hot chocolate, leading to her clothes not fitting properly by the time they reached London.

She also revealed that her father rarely attended her school

events, with her mother usually being the one present. To compensate for his absence, Govinda would often shower her with gifts.

Tina shared, "During my growing up years, my dad was shooting half the time, and he hardly came to my school. Only mom used to come. He only came once or twice for my annual functions when I was performing. My dad has always pampered me with materialistic things. For him, he feels materialistic things are the only way I can win my daughter, but it's not like that."

Discussing her father's parenting style, Tina mentioned that Govinda remains strict, while her mother Sunita, has always been more liberal. "He is still very particular. He has eyes here and here (pointing backward), he has eyes and people everywhere. She was not like that," Tina explained.

In the same interview, she claimed that period cramps are psychological and felt mostly by women in metropolitans cities like Delhi and Mumbai, drawing flak from the internet.
