Feverish fans are hovering around 18000 theaters here and elsewhere in the two Telugu states for left over tickets available at the box offices. Kilometer long serpentine quest were seen here all major multiplexes with mostly youth waiting patiently for their turn to book their tickets for the magnum opus multi lingual flick.
Even as Andhra Pradesh allowed 6 shows per day and Telangana has granted permission for five shows per day as a special consideration, the theaters are trying dubious means to make a fast buck through offering combo tickets linking regular shows with benefit shows. The Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, Anil Kumar in a statement here on Wednesday has directed theatre management to collect only notified rates of tickets and pay entertainment tax on all those tickets sold.
Meanwhile in Bhimavaram of West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh where fans of Prabhas and Pawan Kalyan have been clashing over erecting of big cut outs of Prabhas the
police have imposed 144 sections in the town. While fans are warring in Bhimavaram, the Warangal Urban collector Ms Amrapali surprised everyone by booking 350 tickets for first show on 28 April night for 350 of her staff who are working in her city beautification programme. “This is to create an atmosphere of trust and bonhomie among the troops,” a senior officer said.
In a related incident the producer of the movie Yarlagadda Shobhu alleged racial discrimination against the team of bahubali including Anushka, Prabhas and Raana in the hands of Dubai airport staff while they were returning from Dubai after promotion of the movie over there. “Flying to Hyderabad on EK526, airline staff at Gate B4 was very rude and harassed our team. I think one of the Emirates staffer was racist. I fly emirates regularly and this is the first time that I have come across such attitude,” he tweeted. He also rubbished reports that few scenes of the Bahubali 2 were leaked.
