Sanjay Leela Bhansali's debut OTT series, 'Heeramandi', which will soon release on Netflix, was made for over 380 days. In an exclusive chat, the six leading ladies of ‘Heeramandi’ divulged some interesting and lesser-known facts about director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and their experience on the sets of the show.
The team of 'Heeramandi' told that it took the makers around 380 days to complete the shoot. They also said that Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin Segal and Richa Chaddha took 2-3 hours each to get ready. However, Aditi Rao Hydari said she was the quickest among all and used to take only about 45 minutes to get ready for her character, Bibbojaan.
Filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known to be a hard
taskmaster and for any actor to get a compliment from him is seen as equivalent to receiving the highest form of appreciation.
The team said, "It is said that Sanjay Leela Bhansali is always looking for magic and the day you spontaneously do that thing, that magic, you won't realise when you do, and he won't realise what he compliments you for. He just makes eye contact with you after you've done what you have done and if you know that, you've done something right.''
Interestingly, while divulging details about her experience of shooting for 'Heeramandi’, Sonakshi Sinha said that she has not played something like this in her entire career and that she even received a standing ovation from Sanjay Leela Bhansali while shooting one of the scenes.
