I invited PM Narendra Modi to my show, he didn't reject, reveals Kapil Sharma

In a new episode of the TV show Seedhi Baat on Aaj Tak now, Kapil Sharma will be seen baring his heart out. The actor-comedian is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Zwigato. On Seedhi Baat with Sudhir Chaudhary, Kapil was asked if he would ever like to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a guest on The Kapil Sharma Show. The comedian revealed that he has indeed invited the Prime Minister when he met him. And guess what? PM Narendra Modi didn't reject Kapil's offer!

Kapil Sharma had earlier courted controversy after his drunk tweet to PM Narendra Modi went viral. The comedian will be seen as a guest on Aaj Tak's Seedhi Baat today at 9 pm. On the show, he was asked if he would ever invite the Prime Minister to his show.

Sharma replied, “When I met the Prime Minister personally, I asked him to pay a visit to my show someday. He did not reject the invitation that time. He rather said, ‘For now my oppositions are doing enough comedy, so will come someday later.’ So yeah, he did not refuse to come. If he ever comes, it will be my honour. I want his lighter side to come in front of the people. I will keep calling him.”

For the uninitiated, in September 2016, Kapil was allegedly asked to cough up Rs 5 lakh bribe by BMC. He tweeted about it and asked PM Modi if this is what 'achhe din' means. His tweet read, "I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi (sic)." He later said he tweeted it when he was drunk.
