Comedian-actor Kapil Sharma has finally reacted to the Atlee controversy. He clarified his comments about Atlee on The Great Indian Kapil Show, claiming that he never commented about the filmmaker's looks. Further replying to trolls, he urged them not to "spread hate".
Amid social media backlash, Kapil Sharma replied to an X user, accusing him of subtly insulting Atlee's looks. The Zwigato actor replied, "Dear sir, can you pls explain me where n when I talked about looks in this video ? pls don’t spread hate on social media thank you. (guys watch n decide by yourself, don’t follow any body’s tweet like a sheep) (sic)."
Recently, the cast of Baby John, including Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, and the film's co-producer, Atlee, appeared on The
Great Indian Kapil Show. During the show, Kapil spoke about how Atlee has become a big director and producer after the success of Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan. "But, when you get to meet a star for the first time, do they ask, where is Atlee?," he asked the Bigil director.
Atlee handled the situation rather well. He replied, "In a way, I understood your question. I'll try to answer. I'm actually very thankful to AR Murugadoss sir because he produced my first film. He asked for a script, but didn't see how I'm looking or whether I'm capable of it or not. But, he loved my narration. I think the world should see that. We should not judge by appearance. You have to judge by your heart."
While Atlee's reply was much-appreciated by fans, Kapil Sharma's question landed him in a soup.
