Karan Johar has responded to the notice issued to him by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The NCB had sent a notice to Karan on December 16, asking for details of a party that he had hosted at his residence in July 2019. Top film stars had attended the party at Karan's residence.
Today, the director-producer has submitted some documents and a pen drive to the NCB through his representative. NCB officials will analyse the details provided by Karan and will then decide the further course of action.
In his response, Karan has maintained that no drugs were consumed at his party. Confirming the same, a NCB official told PTI, "Karan was asked to give details of the party. Accordingly, the NCB on Friday received a reply from him to the notice. In the
reply, Karan maintained that no drug was consumed at the party." In his response, Karan has mentioned that the instrument used to shoot the video, which was a mobile phone, has been misplaced.
The NCB had received a complaint regarding the video of a party, which was attended by top Bollywood stars last year. The complaint was about movie stars apparently seen in a ''drugged'' state in the video. Former Shiromani Akali Dal MLA Maninder Singh Sirsa had asked the NCB to investigate the video, suspecting that drugs were consumed at the party.
Sources have said that the NCB officials had sought details of the party and have also asked about the devices that were used to shoot the said video. According to reports, the video has been sent for forensic analysis.
