A prayer meeting was recently organised in Chennai in honour of Bollywood icon Sridevi where the actors from Kollywood paid homage to the late actress on Sunday evening by her family. The event, which is out of bounds for the media, saw the attendance of several actors along with Boney Kapoor and daughters Janhvi and Khushi who flew down from Mumbai for the event.
Tributes were paid to Indian cinema icon Sridevi here by a host of stars of the south India film industry, which gave her career a start before she became a star in Bollywood.
Several prominent Tamil film stars, including Sivakumar, actor-director K Bhagyaraj, “Kutti” Padmini and Sripriya, who had long association with her, paid
floral tributes to a photograph of Sridevi kept at the office SIAA office.
SIAA President and actor Nasser led the fellow artistes in paying tributes to Sridevi,Actor-director Manobala, also a member of the SIAA, tweeted and shared a photograph of the SIAA members paying their tributes to Sridevi.
Actors Suriya, Arun Vijay, Prabhu Deva, Jyotika, Meena, Raadika Sarath Kumar and Suhasini Mani Ratnam, fashion designer Manish Malhotra and Lata Rajinikanth made their presence felt. According to reports, earlier in the day, the South Indian Artists Association (SIAA) had organised a condolence meeting in which several office-bearers and members, including actors Bhagyaraj, Sivakumar, Sripriya and Ambika were present.
