Stella Stevens was a veteran Hollywood actress known for her roles as Stella in The Nutty Professor and as Linda in The Poseidon Adventure. Unfortunately, she breathed her last in Los Angeles on February 17. She was 84 years old.. Her son, actor-director-producer Andrew Stevens, told Variety that his mother had suffered from Alzheimer’s disease prior to her death.
Her friend and manager, Maria Calabrese, said, "It was an honour and a privilege to have worked with Stella, who was one of the most wonderful and gifted people."
Former Kiss member Bruce Kulick also announced the news on social media and wrote, “Legendary
actress Stella Stevens, my brother’s longtime partner, passed away this morning from a long illness. She is finally reunited with Bob today. She starred in many movies I love. It was very special for my family and I to know her personally. RIP Stella, 1938-2023 (sic).”
Stella Stevens has worked in television too. She was seen in series such as Murder She Wrote and Magnum, P.I. She married electrician Noble Herman Stevens when she was just 16. Stella gave birth to her first and only child Andrew. Two years later, she divorced and began modelling and acting. Stevens won a Golden Globe for her 1959 film debut as a chorus girl in Say One for Me.
