Malaika Arora's father switched off phone after last call to daughters: Sources

Actor Malaika Arora's father Anil Mehta, who allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday, had switched off his phone after making a final call to his daughters, police sources said.

Anil Mehta allegedly ended his life by jumping off the sixth floor of the building `Ayesha Manor' in upscale Bandra. According to the initial autopsy report, he suffered injuries to the head.

On Thursday, the police



recorded statements of Malaika Arora, her sister Amrita Arora, and their mother.

Malaika and Amrita said in their statement that their father had called them and said "I am sick and tired".

After this call, when the family members tried to convince him, Anil had switched his phone off, sources said.

The police will now record the statement of his doctor and other family members.
