National award-winning Malayalam actor Kalpana is no more.
Kalpana, who had won the national award the best actor in a supporting role in the film Njaan Thanichalla (2012), died reportedly due to a heart attack at a hotel in Hyderabad during early hours on Monday.
She was in Hyderabad for the shooting of a Telugu and a Tamil film and to attend the IIFA award function.
Kalpana, 51, had made her debut in G. Aravindan's film Pokkuveyil 1981 and has acted in around 300 films. Her latest Malayalam film Charlie is still running in cinemas across Kerala.
Kalpana is survived by sisters Urvashi and Kalaranjini, who are also actors.
The actor’s body is expected to be brought to Kerala later on Monday. She is survived by her daughter.
