Mani Ratnam, Luca Guadagnino to receive excellence in cinema award at MAMI

Popular Indian filmmaker Mani Ratnam and Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino will be presented with the Excellence in Cinema Award at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival (October 27 to November 5). The award will be presented to the two filmmakers at the opening night ceremony on Friday, October 27, 2023. Both directors will attend the festival to receive this prestigious accolade and will conduct masterclasses at the festival.

Ratnam will receive Excellence in Cinema Award (South Asia). His recent film 'Ponniyin Selvan: Part One and Two and Luca Guadagnino's Golden Globe-nominated film, 'I am Love' will be screened at the festival.

MAMI's Excellence in Cinema award honours individuals who''e made outstanding contributions to the world of cinema. Previous recipients of the awards include Darren Aronofsky, Sharmila Tagore, Fernando Meirelles, and Chen Kaige.
