Marvel Studios has officially announced that Avengers Doomsday is now in production. The news, revealed on March 26, was accompanied by a star-studded cast announcement, bringing together familiar faces from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) alongside some exciting new additions.
Returning MCU heroes, villains, and anti-heroes include Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Anthony Mackie (Captain America), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Wyatt Russell (US Agent), Simu Liu (Shang-Chi), and Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova).
Kelsey Grammer will most likely be reprising his role as Beast from X-Men The Last Stand, and members of the Fantastic Four are also set to
appear, with Vanessa Kirby as The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing.
Additionally, Thunderbolts newcomer Lewis Pullman (Bob / Sentry) and Danny Ramirez (Falcon) will join the ensemble, along with Tenoch Huerta returning as Namor.
Marvel first unveiled Avengers Doomsday at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2024, shocking fans with the revelation that Robert Downey Jr, who once played Tony Stark / Iron Man in the MCU, would take on the mantle of Dr Victor von Doom. The film also marks the return of the Russo Brothers, the directing duo behind Avengers Infinity War and Endgame, signalling a major reunion of the MCU’s biggest stars and filmmakers.
