Following the death of his longtime friend and Friends co-star Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc has reportedly taken a significant step back from his career, opting for a quieter life away from the spotlight.

According to a source close to LeBlanc, the loss deeply affected him and prompted him to reflect on his own life. “Matt is still upset over the loss of Matthew. Such an important part of his life and a good friend is gone. It has made him rethink his life,” the source shared with The Daily Mail.

Financially comfortable and choosing to focus on personal interests, LeBlanc is reportedly not seeking new acting opportunities. The source noted, “He is financially stable and doesn’t really want to be in the limelight anymore,” highlighting LeBlanc’s desire to prioritise other areas of his life over his career.

As for a possible return to acting, the source indicated that it would take an exceptional role

to bring LeBlanc back to film or television. “He would need the perfect opportunity to return in front of the camera for any role in TV and film as he has silently retired,” the source explained.

Inspired by figures like Jack Nicholson and Rick Moranis, who quietly stepped away from Hollywood, LeBlanc reportedly wants to live a simpler life. “They just stopped and decided to live life and be happy with what they did in the past,” the source added.

With a focus on enjoying life’s quieter moments, LeBlanc’s decision marks a heartfelt shift in the actor’s life, following a beloved friend’s loss.

Matthew Perry was celebrated for his role as Chandler Bing in the superhit American sitcom, Friends. He died on October 29, 2023, from "acute effects" of ketamine and other factors that caused him to lose consciousness and drown in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home, according to a December 2023 autopsy report.
