The last rites of Ramoji Rao, media baron and founder of Eenadu and Ramoji Film City, are being held at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. Rao, 87, died while he was undergoing treatment at a hospital in the city.
As per an ETV Bharat report, the Telangana government has meticulously arranged the state honours for the last rites of the deceased media tycoon. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, currently in Delhi for a CWC meeting, has directed the chief secretary to ensure proper oversight of the proceedings. The chief secretary has, in turn, instructed the Ranga Reddy
District Collector and the Cyberabad Commissioner to manage the arrangements.
Concurrently, the Andhra Pradesh government has declared June 9 and 10 as days of mourning in respect, with the national flag flying at half-mast on all official buildings and all official entertainment activities suspended. Additionally, three senior officials—RP Sisodia, Saiprasad, and Rajat Bhargava—will represent the Andhra Pradesh government at Ramoji Rao's last rites.
