Tanushree Dutta sent shockwaves not only across Bollywood but across the nation when she came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Nana Patekar. While she has been very vocal about her side of the story, Nana has maintained a stoic silence so far.
Addressing the media outside his residence, Nana revealed why he had remained tight-lipped all this while. He said, "Meri vakil ne kaha hai ki kisi bhi channel se baat mat karo. Nahi toh main humesha main aapse milta rehta hoon. Mujhe koi dikkat nahi thi. Lekin unhone jab kaha hai, toh mujhe yeh karna pada. So will you please pardon me for that?"
When prodded by reporters for a statement, Nana said, "10 saal pehle jo bola tha, wohi bolunga. Jo kal sach tha woh aaj sach
hai. Jo aaj sach hai woh kal bhi sach hi rahega."
He refused to divulge any more details and told the media, "Aapko jitna batana tha, utna bata diya. Thank you very much."
Incidentally, Nana's son Malhar had texted journalists last night and told them that the press conference stood cancelled. "Just wanted to inform that there's no press conference tomorrow... Will let you know about the further proceedings soon," Malhar wrote.
Tanushree has accused Nana of getting too close for comfort on the sets of the 2008 film Horn Ok Pleassss. She claimed that when she refused to perform an intimate dance with him and was about to leave the set, he called members of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena to intimidate her.
