Nawazuddin Siddiqui's wife, Aaliya, came to Budhana, Muzaffarnagar, from Mumbai to record her statement against the actor and his four family members on Sunday. Aaliya recorded the statmenet and supported what she had alleged in her complaint earlier, said SHO Kushalpal Singh.
On Juny 27, Aaliya had lodged a complaint at a police station in Mumbai. However, the place of occurence of the offence fell in the jurisdiction of Badhana Police Station. This is the reason that an FIR was registered by the Mumbai Police which was then forwarded to the Budhana Police Station.
The SHO further
revealed that Aaliya, in her statement, reiterated her allegation of molestation of a family member in 2012 by the Nawazuddin's brother, Minhajuddin Siddiqui. She also alleged that she had apprised her in-laws’ family about the molestation incident but they told her to keep quiet and solve the matter within the family.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui went to his ancestral village in Uttar Pradesh's Budhana with his mother and brother from Mumbai in May this year. The same month, Aaliya had sent a legal notice to the actor, claiming maintenance and divorce. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the notice was sent via E-mail and WhatsApp.
