Actor Nayanthara is currently facing legal challenges concerning the Netflix documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairy Tale. The makers of the Tamil film Chandramukhi have reportedly filed a lawsuit against the documentary’s producers, alleging unauthorised use of clips from their film.
The legal notice alleges that the inclusion of these clips constitutes a violation of copyright laws, prompting the filmmakers to demand their immediate removal. The documentary, which delves into Nayanthara’s career and personal life, has sparked controversy following the legal action.
This information was shared by actor Chitra Lakshman, who regularly provides film-related updates on his YouTube channel. According to Lakshman, the
makers of Chandramukhi are displeased with certain scenes from their film being featured in the documentary, which is currently streaming on Netflix.
The makers of Chandramukhi were reportedly said to have sent a legal notice to Nayanthara and the OTT platform for not obtaining proper permission to use the film's footage. However, the team has denied these claims, stating that they have not filed any case against Nayanthara. They further clarified that they had already granted permission for the actress to use the footage in question.
Earlier, Dhanush had sent a legal notice to Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan over the usage of certain clips from the film Naanum Rowdy Dhan in her Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairytale.
