HBO is continuing to assemble the cast for its upcoming Harry Potter series, with British actor and comedian Nick Frost reportedly in negotiations to play Rubeus Hagrid, Deadline's exclusive report stated.

If confirmed, Frost would join an already star-studded lineup, including John Lithgow as Professor Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Professor Minerva McGonagall, and Paapa Essiedu as Professor Severus Snape.

While HBO has not officially commented on Frost’s involvement, the network acknowledged the ongoing speculation, stating, "We appreciate that such a high-profile series

will draw a lot of rumour and speculation. As we make our way through pre-production, we will only confirm details as we finalise deals."

The possibility of Frost’s casting gained traction online last week after he shared a cryptic Instagram post on March 20, stating, "It’s happening, it’s actually happening."

Hagrid, the beloved half-giant and gamekeeper at Hogwarts, was famously portrayed by Robbie Coltrane in the original Harry Potter film series.

With pre-production underway, HBO is expected to make further casting announcements in the coming months.
