‘not propaganda, watch film before judging it’, says The Kerala Story actor Adah Sharma

Actress Adah Sharma has backed 'The Kerala Story', which is in the eye of the storm. Adah Sharma plays Fatima Ba in this Sudipto Sen Hindi film and she spoke about the controversy and the dialogue about 32,000 Malayali girls joining the terror group Islamic State (IS) in the teaser.

Fatima Ba is one of the Hindu Malayali girls who converts to Islam and joins IS in The Kerala Story.

"The story is really scary and the fact that people are calling it propaganda or are thinking about numbers



before that girls went missing is scarier. Instead, it would have been the opposite that we would have discussed that girls are missing and then given a thought about the numbers," Adah Sharma told ANI.

Political parties in Kerala have all condemned the film and some have called for a ban on its release in the state. Numerous politicians, including Congress' Shashi Tharoor, have put out statements on social media.

On May 1, Adah Sharma took to her social media to post a response to these statements.
