Veteran US actor Alan Arkin has died. He was known for his remarkable performances in films such as Catch-22, Edward Scissorhands, and Little Miss Sunshine. He passed away at the age of 89. Alan had a career spanning 65 years. He won multiple Academy Award and Emmy nominations. He also appeared in Ben Affleck's Oscar-winning Argo.
His sons, Adam, Matthew and Anthony, confirmed the news of his
death to People magazine in a statement. "Our father was a uniquely talented force of nature, both as an artist and a man. A loving husband, father, grand and great-grandfather, he was adored and will be deeply missed."
Natasha Lyonne, who shared the screen with Arkin in Slums of Beverly Hills, expressed, “The favorite of all my movie dads and so brilliant, inspiring and kind for so long (sic).”
