Baahubali is creating storm everywhere. After conquering India, the US, UAE and Nepal, the SS Rajamouli film is now making waves at Pakistan Box Office. The film which features Rana Daggubati, Prabhas, Anushka Shetty and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles got released in Pakistan without any cut. It is also the first regional dubbed film to have got a wide release on the other side of the wall.
As reported by a leading daily, Baahubali 2 is running to packed theatres in Pakistan and people are going gaga over its grandeur. Interestingly, such a wide acceptance of Baahubali: The Conclusion in Pakistan is a surprise since the film talks about Indian mythologies and is, in fact, a concoction of Ramayana and Mahabharata.
Talking to the daily, a film distributor from Pakistan, Amjad Rasheed specifically mentioned Baahubali’s performance at the single
screens in the country. He said: “The film has especially got a huge response in single screens, even though it purports mythology and Hindu tradition to a certain extent.”
The film has also been passed by the Pakistan Censor Board without a single cut. Adding to this, Rasheed said: “Baahubali 2 was passed without a single cut since the PCB did not find anything objectionable in the film.”
The Box Office success of Baahubali in Pakistan is also important since not every big film gets to release there. In fact, Aamir Khan’s Dangal which is currently roaring at China Box Office could not see the light of the day at Pakistan Box Office. The censor board there wanted to chop off the scenes related to Indian flag and Indian National Anthem and the makers of the film, including Aamir Khan did not agree to this.
