Pathaan is roaring at the box office currently. In India and worldwide, the film has been breaking records ever since its release on January 25. Fans are especially excited to see Shah Rukh Khan back on the screens doing a full-fledged role after a hiatus of four years. Pathaan has now surpassed the Rs 950-crore mark globally, and is eyeing the Rs 500-crore mark at the domestic box office collection. It has also become the second-biggest Hindi original grosser of all time in IMAX.
Pathaan, which released on January 25, is running a riot at the box office. Also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the film took a bumper opening at the box office and it
doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. The film hit 144 IMAX screens worldwide in 21 markets. Eventually, it had the widest Indian release ever on IMAX. “Pathaan delivered the biggest opening day ever for an Indian film in IMAX,” Richard Gelfond, CEO, IMAX, told Economic Times. Reports also suggest that Pathaan had the number 1 IMAX initial weekend of all time in India. It beat films like KGF-Chapter 2, RRR, Avatar: The Way Of Water, 2017 film Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion.
Pathaan now stands as the seventh highest-grossing IMAX film of all time across India. It is the second highest-grossing Indian film in IMAX, the first being Yash-starrer KGF – Chapter 2.
