This weekend, Kapil Sharma goes it alone on his show. Well, almost. He is seen trying to entertain his guests, but without the pivotal help of Sunil Grover, Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar.
Saturday's episode featuring Tapsee Pannu and Manoj Bajpai was pathetic. With the absence of key players, Kapil Sharma struggled along with Kiku Sharda trying to generate half-hearted laughter.
Kiku even took a dig at the current controversy regarding the Kapil-Sunil fight. "Nowadays anything that is said about you becomes news," Kiku guffawed at Kapil.
The feeble jokes got feebler by the moment.
We also saw Kapil and Rochelle Rao suddenly breaking into a dance, and we are still trying to understand if there was no other way to kill time? The punch lines throughout the show were so predictable that it got weary after a while. When they ran out of that too, the producers got Kapil Sharma's fans on stage.
Manoj Bajpai apparently called up Sunil Grover to ask what was happening to the show.
The boycott after Kapil's drunken unruly midair behaviour, will continue next week. Grover and his colleagues won't be recording for The Kapil Sharma Show.
Panic now prevails on The Kapil Sharma Show with Grover snubbing all of Sharma's olive branches
and turning down Navjot Singh Sidhu's offer to mediate.
A close friend of Sunil's reveals, "Sunil is neither interested in a meeting with Kapil nor is he physically or emotionally up to it. He is now taking off for an unknown destination with his wife and son for a recuperative holiday."
Says Sunil's friend, "Kapil's regret and apology happened only after his mid-air behaviour was exposed. If no one spoke about it, he would have continued in his own way. On numerous occasions, he had insulted Sunil and the other team members. Unforgivably, Sunil and the others overlooked Kapil's growing highhandedness. 'Chalo chalo show record karte hain,' they'd say every time after his rude behaviour. But not anymore. Kapil needs to know he is wrong. There is no going back."
Interestingly, stars who have graced the show this weekend, have called Sunil Grover anxiously, says Sunil's friend. "Sunil received a call from Manoj Bajpai who was on the show this weekend. Others have also called to ask what has happened between Kapil and Sunil."
Meanwhile, Sunil spoke up for the first time.
I am very relaxed, very introspective, deep in thought about my future plans.I am just watching all the tamasha that's happening. It's very entertaining. Sunil Grover, Comedian
