On the occasion of her father Mahesh Bhatt's 76th birthday, actor and filmmaker Pooja Bhatt is set to launch a deeply personal and unfiltered podcast titled Maine Dil Se Kaha. Produced by Bhatt’s protege, Imran Zahid, the podcast will offer a raw exploration of fame, love, and addiction, drawing from Pooja’s own experiences with alcoholism.
Reflecting on her journey, Pooja shared how her father’s words helped her overcome her battle with addiction. “We either own our story, or it owns us. Only when we gather the courage to embrace our history can we begin to write our own legacy," she said. Recalling her debut in the film Daddy at 17, which told the story of a girl saving her father from alcoholism, Pooja noted the irony of facing a similar struggle at 44. "My father once sent me a message that said, ‘Pooja, if you love me, then love yourself; I live within you.’ That
message changed everything for me, and I quit drinking from that moment on,” she revealed.
Maine Dil Se Kaha will delve into the sensitive aspects of addiction, with Pooja promising to feature guests who have fought their own battles. “This podcast will be an unfiltered journey from the bottom of my heart, featuring guests who have fought similar battles in their lives. Real role models are those who show their imperfections and failures to the world,” she added.
Mahesh Bhatt stated, “It will be a podcast that deals with real-life stories of real-life people who have tasted darkness and have their lives to share with the world. This podcast explores addiction with a wide scope that goes beyond substance abuse, revealing the authentic emotional journeys of healing.”
The release date of the podcast has not been announced yet.
