Prabhas' Adipurush trailer to release on May 9

Director Om Raut's Adipurush, an adaptation of the Indian epic Ramayana, has landed in trouble every now and then. From being called out for poor VFX to being questioned for hurting religious sentiments, Adipurush has been in the news for several years now. The film's trailer is gearing up for a grand release on May 9. Ahead of the trailer release, let us take a look at the number of controversies that film strred up.

Two years ago, Saif Ali Khan landed in soup when he said that Adipurush will showcase the humane side of Ravan. For the uninitiated, Saif Ali Khan will play the role of Ravan in the film.

His comments caused a huge uproar and he had to apologise later. In a statement, he said, "I would like to sincerely apologise to everybody and withdraw my statement. Lord Ram has always been the symbol of Righteousness and Heroism for me. Adipurush is about celebrating the victory of good over evil."
