A short movie made with the financial assistance from Prasar Bharati has been nominated for Oscars. The movie "Moti Bagh" revolving around the life and hard work of an octogenarian farmer from Uttarakhand has been directed by a three time national award winner Nirmal Chandra Dandariyal.
The film made with the financial assistance from Prasar Bharati is about the life of an 82 year old farmer from Uttarakhand, Vidyadutt Sharma. Mr Sharma lives in Saanguda village of Kaljikhal block of Pauri district. It is the first film from Uttarakhand which will be
showcased on a prestigious global platform like Oscars.
Moti Bagh is the name of farm of the Octogenarian farmer which was set up in 1967. He has been putting in his hard work and efforts in Motibagh since then. In February this year, a giant radish grown in Vidyadutt's farm was showcased at a district level event organised by the horticulture department, which was a record.
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra SIngh Rawat expressed happiness on Motibagh's nomination for the Oscars.
