Priyanka Chopra is reportedly believed to have been locked as the female lead opposite Mahesh Babu’s next film. The film, directed by SS Rajamouli, is a unique African jungle adventure, inspired by the traits of Lord Hanuman.
As per reports by Pinkvilla, Rajamouli is set to begin filming this epic tale in April 2025, following the success of Baahubali and RRR.
Sources close to the entertainment portal reveal that Priyanka is set to return to the Indian film industry with Rajamouli's upcoming pan-world jungle adventure.
"The script is in its final stages, and the film is scheduled to go on floors in April 2025. Rajamouli was seeking a female lead with global appeal, and Priyanka was the perfect choice. Over the past six months, the filmmaker had multiple meetings with
her, and everything has aligned perfectly for this collaboration," the source shared.
The untitled film will mark Priyanka’s return to the Indian cinema after a six-year hiatus, with her last appearance being in The Sky Is Pink.
“Priyanka Chopra is thrilled to collaborate with a visionary like SS Rajamouli and team up with Mahesh Babu for an adventure like never before. This project is a new challenge for her, with a character that offers plenty of action alongside Mahesh Babu. Rajamouli, known for crafting grand cinematic universes, is poised to elevate SSMB29, with pre-production moving at a rapid pace, promising an epic and larger-than-life experience for audiences.
