Priyanka Chopra shared the first look trailer of her upcoming film, The White Tiger, on Twitter. The film, based on the best-selling novel of the same name by Aravind Adiga, pairs Rajkummar Rao opposite Priyanka for the first time. The White Tiger will release in selected theatres in December this year and will begin streaming on an OTT platform in January, 2021.

Sharing the trailer on Instagram, Priyanka Chopra wrote, “Presenting the first look trailer of #TheWhiteTiger. You believe your destiny is what was bred in you... till you find a way to break free. I'm so proud to be part of this project. From writer-director Ramin Bahrani, The White Tiger is an adaptation of The New York Times Bestseller & the 2008 Man Booker Prize Winning novel by Aravind Adiga."

The White Tiger first look trailer begins with a voice saying, "When you come to India, you'll meet millions of servants like me.” We then see Balram (Adarsh Gourav) , who says that the desire to be a servant has been bred into him. He is a dedicated servant, who believes that serving his master is the ultimate aim

of his life until he is asked what he wants to do. For himself.

It is after this point that the trailer takes an intense turn and focuses on Balram and his want to 'break free' from his invisible shackles. The trailer ends with Balram saying, "It's the century of the brown man and the yellow man. And may god save everybody else," putting on a pair of sunglasses, and smiling.

Priyanka Chopra plays the role of Pinky Madam in the film. She had earlier shared a post on Instagram, telling her followers about her character. Along with sharing two stills from the film, Priyanka had written, “In another post, Priyanka Chopra talked about her own character in The White Tiger. She wrote, "In #TheWhiteTiger, I play the role of Pinky madam, who is a first generation immigrant in the US. She is in India with her husband, who is travelling for business. And then... life changes! Pinky madam is such a specific character, to play her unravelling in the story was such a joy. This is a story that needs to be told and it comes alive with its characters so compellingly in Ramin’s hands (sic)."
