distributor Akshaye Rathi has claimed that he has received threats from Shiva
Sena's Chhattisgarh unit against releasing Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming
"Raees", which stars Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.
In a series of tweets, Rathi said that he has received a letter which has
warned him not to screen the Rahul Dholakia-directed movie, slated to release
on January 25.The distributor also tagged Aaditya Thackeray, who is the head of
Yuva Sena, a youth wing of Shiv Sena.
"Dear @AUThackeray, We have
received this threat letter from your
Chhattisgarh unit against playing @iamsrk's #Raees. Do you endorse it?"
Rathi posted alongside pictures of the threat letter.
Addressing Chhattisgarh CM Raman Singh, he wrote, "@drramansingh ji &
@CGAbhishekSingh, Please look into this to let law & order prevail in
#Chhattisgarh. #Raees @ChhattisgarhCMO."
Rathi also made an appeal to all SRK fans to support him."Request all
@iamsrk fans to help me bring this to the notice of @AUThackeray. I'm sure he
will take action against this nuisance. #Raees."
