Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji says that she is 'pained' by the fact that she cannot give her daughter Adira a sibling. In a new interview, the actor spoke about her 'traumatic' miscarriage which happened during the pandemic. Rani lost her second baby five months into her pregnancy.
While speaking to an interview, Rani said she and her producer-husband, Aditya Chopra, wanted to have their second child just a year after being blessed with their first child, Adira. But, when she got pregnant after trying for seven years, she lost the baby. Describing the phase of her life as 'difficult and
testing', the 'Black' actor said, "I tried for a second baby for almost seven years. My daughter is eight years old now, and when she was one or one-and-a-half, I tried for my second, and I kept trying, and I finally got pregnant and then I lost the baby. Obviously, it was a very, very testing time for me."
Rani emphasised that she is not young any more and now that she is 46 years old, she cannot have a baby. The actor added, "I’m going to turn 46, it’s not an age where I can have a baby. It is traumatic for me that I can’t give a sibling to my daughter, and it really pains me."
