Ranya Rao seeks bail from Karnataka High Court in gold smuggling case

Kannada actor Ranya Rao approached the Karnataka High Court on Tuesday seeking bail after her plea was rejected by three subordinate courts in the ongoing gold smuggling case. Her advocate, BS Girish, filed the bail petition in the High Court following a series of rejections in lower



courts.

On March 27, the 64th City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru denied her bail plea, a decision that came after the Special Court for Economic Offences had refused her request on March 14. Earlier, the Magistrate Court had also declined to grant bail, citing the seriousness of the charges against her.
