Actor Richa Chadha shared a video on X to voice her despair over the worsening air pollution in Delhi, sharing a video of residents bursting crackers despite Air Quality Index (AQI) exceeding 1000 - a level categorised as hazardous.
In her post, Chadha lamented the state of the city that shaped her early years, writing, “The death sentence called life in Delhi... the city of my
childhood, my school, my roots... Heartbreaking to see the apathy and sheer hatred for one-selves. Politicians will do nothing unless we learn to speak up for ourselves (sic).”
The video, originally posted by another user, showed people bursting firecrackers. The AQI levels of the national capital have consistently been among the worst globally, with severe consequences for public health.
