Rohit Shetty, John Abraham to collaborate for Rakesh Maria's biopic

John Abraham and Rohit Shetty are set to collaborate on a new project inspired by the life and career of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria.

According to Mid-Day, the untitled film is based on Maria’s autobiography Let Me Say It Now and will chronicle his journey from a young boy in Bandra to a senior police officer involved in major investigations, including the 1993 Bombay blasts and the 26/11 terror attacks.

An industry source told the publication, “Rohit



always wanted to make a cop film rooted in truth. Rakesh Maria’s life reads like a thriller. It’s intense and has many high points, from his investigation of the 1993 Bombay blasts and the 26/11 attacks to his brush with the underworld. Maria and Shetty have been in talks for a while, and it’s finally starting now.”

The film will reportedly be shot at nearly 40 real locations across Mumbai, including key landmarks like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Dongri, and the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
