As part of the 16th International Film Festival held in Bengaluru, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah honoured the legendary Indian actor and multilingual artiste Shabana Azmi with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Kaveri Residence. The award was presented with a cheque of Rs 10 lakh. Renowned poet, lyricist and Azmi's husband



Javed Akhtar was also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recalled Shabana Azmi’s work, stating, "We really love the visual poem, Mile Sur Mera Tumhara. I have seen you in it."

Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar praised Karnataka for its rich cultural and musical heritage.
