Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (September 17) turned 72. With several events being organised across the country to mark the occasion, wishes poured in since the morning from several dignitaries and politicians from across the globe. Many Bollywood celebrities including Kangana Ranaut, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Anupam Kher among others wished him on the special day. Taking to his Twitter, Kher shared a video of PM Modi and wished him a long and healthy life. 

He wrote, "Respected Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji! Happy Birthday to you! May the Lord grant you a long and healthy life! You are trying your best to fulfill the responsibility of your oath! Will keep doing it for years! Thanks for your leadership! Happy Birthday Prime Minister #Modiji !"

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan took to his Twitter handle and penned a heartfelt note for the leader. In his post, the superstar urged the prime minister to take a day off and enjoy the special occasion. He wrote, "Your dedication for the welfare of our country and its people is highly appreciated. May you have the strength and health to achieve all your goals. Take a day off and enjoy your Birthday, sir. Happy Birthday @narendramodi."

Salman Khan took to social media on Saturday to wish PM Narendra Modi on his 72nd birthday. Salman joined other Bollywood celebrities in wishing PM Modi on the special occasion. Salman, on Twitter, wrote, "Wishing our hon Prime Minister Narendra bhai Modi a very happy birthday (sic)." He also tagged PM Modi in his tweet. 

Akshay Kumar dropped a picture with PM Modi and wished him, saying, "Your vision, your warmth, and your capacity to work…just some of the many things that I find deeply inspiring. Happy Birthday @narendramodi ji. Wish you health, happiness and a glorious year ahead."

Kangana Ranaut, who has been busy filming her upcoming movie Emergency, took to



Instagram and posted an old photo of the PM Modi from an event, along with a long birthday message. She called him the 'most powerful man on this planet' as she wished him. "Happy birthday honorable Prime Minister @narendramodi. From selling tea on railway platforms as a child to becoming the most powerful man on this planet, what an incredible journey… we wish you a long, long life, but like Rama, like Krishna, Like Gandhi, you are immortal. Now etched forever in the conscious of this nation and beyond. You will love forever. Nothing can erase your legacy that’s why I call you an Avatar… blessed to have you as our leader," she wrote.

"जन्मदिन की शुभकामनाये honorable Prime Minister @narendramodi , Your leadership inspires India and me. Wishing you good health and a great year ahead Sir @PMOIndia, " Ajay Devgn tweeted. 

Anil Kapoor took to Twitter and shared two pictures with Modi. In the first photo, the actor is seen sitting next to the leader while the second picture shows the two shaking hands. Wishing him, the veteran actor wrote, "A very Happy Birthday to the man who has put India on the world map in a way we could never have imagined. The harbinger of acche din, the leader of our proud nation. May you live long and stay healthy! @narendramodi."

Sanjay Dutt thanked PM Narendra Modi for his leadership and heaped praises for changing the outlook of the nation. The actor shared a photograph with Modi as the two stand together and wrote, "Sending my warm birthday wishes to the man who changed the outlook of our Nation, Thank you for your great leadership!A Happy birthday @narendramodi" Sanjay wrote on the micro-blogging website for the leader."

Actors Mahesh Babu and Mohanlal also wished Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday. Telugu star Mahesh Babu said: "Birthday greetings to our hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi! Wishing you great health, happiness and continued success."
