Sidhant Gupta, RJ Malishka to play Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu in new series

Sidhant Gupta, who was last seen in the web series ‘Jubilee’, has been locked for yet another OTT show titled ‘Freedom At Midnight’. Sources told IndiaToday.In that it will stream on Sony LIV and the shoot has already begun. Director and producer Nikkhil Advani is the showrunner and the theme of the show is set around the pre-independence era of India.

IndiaToday.In has also learnt that RJ Malishka has been roped in for the show alongside Sidhant Gupta. Malishka will be seen in a completely different avatar – as Sarojini Naidu.

While there is not much detail about the rest of the star cast, these two



actors along with Nikkhil Advani have already begun shooting. The look tests for the characters were a tedious process, as Advani wanted to ensure that both Sidhant and Malishka would closely resemble Jawaharlal Nehru and Sarojini Naidu’s appearance and body language from whatever reference they could pick from history.

As the name goes, the show ‘Freedom at Midnight’ is set in India’s pre-independence era. It will focus on Sarojini Naidu, who was called the Nightingale of India and how she played an integral role in India’s freedom movement and in becoming the voice of women’s rights and education alongside Jawaharlal Nehru.
