The upcoming film 'Emergency', starring Kangana Ranaut, who is also the director and co-producer of the movie, is at the centre of a growing controversy as it approaches its scheduled release on September 6, 2024. The release of the film's trailer on August 14, 2024, has ignited widespread outrage, particularly within the Sikh community.

The protests, which initially began as sporadic demonstrations in Punjab, have now escalated as the release date nears, with Sikh leaders and community

members voicing strong opposition against the 'propaganda' film.

In Ludhiana, Shiromani Akali Dal leaders and members of the Sikh community staged a protest, issuing a stern warning to the authorities. They cautioned that the screening of 'Emergency' in theatres could lead to serious disturbances in law and order across Punjab, placing the responsibility squarely on the administration.

The protesters also urged the public to boycott the film, amplifying the growing dissent.
