The entire country woke up to the tragic news of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraba’s demise in the wee hours of December 30. Heeraba was 100. She was admitted to Ahmedabad's UN Mehta Hospital after her health deteriorated and was later discharged. Tollywood stars like Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and Kamal Haasan were among a few South stalwarts who offered their condolences.
Post his mother’s passing away, PM Modi posted a tribute on Twitter with a picture of Heeraba while recalling her old teachings. “Glorious century rests at the feet of God. In Maa, I have always felt that trinity, which contains the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless Karmayogi and a life committed to values (sic)” his heart-touching note read.
Now, stars from the South film fraternity also offered their heartfelt tributes while praying for the departed soul. Superstar Rajinikanth took to Twitter and wrote about PM
Modi’s irreplaceable loss. “Respected Dear Modiji... My heartfelt condolences to you for the irreplaceable loss in your life…Mother! (sic)” he tweeted.
Chiranjeevi Konidela also took to Twitter and wrote he is ‘saddened’ by the demise of Heeraba. While offering his tribute, the legendary actor wrote, “Deeply saddened by the demise of Smt. Heeraba Modi ji, beloved mother of our Hon’ble Prime Minister. She lived an extraordinary life. My tributes to the divine soul who left for the heavenly abode. My heartfelt condolences to Shri @narendramodi ji! Om Shanti! (sic)”
Kamal Haasan also offered his endearing tribute to the Prime Minister while praying for the pure soul. "I am saddened to hear the news of the death of the mother #HeerabenModi of the Prime Minister of India @narendramodi. My deepest symp#HeerabenModi. A mother is still a mother even if she is 200 years old. A loss is a loss (sic)" he tweeted.
