Choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant, who has choreographed Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Pathaan’ and Salman Khan in ‘Tiger 3’, opens up about the similarities and differences between the two superstars. In a recent interview with IndiaToday.in, the choreographer talked about how Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan are as dancers.
Speaking about Shah Rukh Khan’s dance style, Vaibhavi told IndiaToday.in, "They are two different personalities. They are two different men. I think Shah Rukh comes from a space of love, respect, a lot of hard work, and discipline. He will rehearse, he comes prepared, and he is at it. He feels that dance doesn't come naturally to him.”
She continued, “But there is a dancer in him. He's of course done 'Kali Kali Aankhen' and all of that; it's not like he's not danced his way through. But he still
feels, like an underdog as far as dancing is concerned. So this is, again, that same space where he's trying to psych himself, where he says 'ki nahi hai par mujhe karna hain'. So that is Shah Rukh, he comes with all this energy and passion. He will be like, “Maine kiya haan, aap dekho lo”.”
As for Salman Khan, she said, "Salman comes with a lot of ease to dance, he is a hustler. Again (he comes) from a space of love, but he will not express that love like SRK. He is a book of poetry and Salman is a novel. So I think that's how they are. You have to discover as you're going. With poetry, you know you'll feel an emotion. So Shah Rukh is definitely an emotion and Salman is a vibe."
Vaibhavi has choreographed Salman Khan in ‘Tiger 3’. The film is all set to release on November 12 and has been directed by Manisha Sharma.
