The city of Lakes, Udaipur, famous across the world as a wedding destination, is once again in the news. Preparations are in full swing for Parineeti Chopra and Raghav Chadha's royal wedding at The Leela Palace on September 24. According to the information, Raghav will go from one hotel to The Leela Palace in a boat decorated in Mewari style as a wedding procession to pick up Parineeti. The boat is also being decorated in a traditional manner, especially for the wedding procession.
The family members of both the bride and the groom will reach Udaipur by the evening of September 22. In this wedding, several renowned chefs have also been invited separately to prepare delectable Punjabi food. Preparations have been made to welcome all guests in Mewari style, with performances of the Ghoomar dance of Rajasthan.
The most expensive Maharaja Suite of the hotel has also been booked for the wedding, the rent of which is around Rs 10 lakh per day. This suite is spread over 3500 square feet.
The hotel that Parineeti-Raghav has chosen to make their wedding special has been ranked in Travel Plus Leisure's World Survey Awards – 2023. The Leela Palace has also been ranked among the world's best 100 and India's favourite 5 hotels. In 2019, a New York travel magazine awarded The Leela Palace the title of number 01 among
the world's best 100 hotels. These awards are given keeping in mind every aspect of the hotel including location, service and facilities.
The Leela Palace overlooks the hills and Lake Pichola and is considered a magnificent property which can be reached by boat and by road. What enhances its beauty is the grand marble art, the Tikri art and hand carvings. Almost all the rooms of the palatial hotel have a special view of the lake. Not only this, the Taj Palace, City Palace and the beautiful valleys of Aravalli can also be seen from the property.
Udaipur became a destination for weddings after the royal wedding of Raveena Tandon and Anil Thadani in 2004. In fact, the series of destination weddings started after Raveena's ceremony at Jag Mandir Palace on February 22, 2004. At the wedding, she reached the mandap in a 100 year old doli, which was once used in the weddings of members of the royal family.
In 2017, Mukesh Kumar's grandson, Neil Nitin Mukesh, was married to Rukmani Sahay at Hotel Radisson Blu. During that time, instead of the horse, the groom had come out in a vintage car. On December 8 and 9, 2018, the pre-wedding ceremony of Mukesh Ambani's daughter Isha also took place in these same hotels on the shore of Udaipur lakes. During that time, more than 150 charters had reached Dabok Airport in Udaipur.
