Sunny Deol’s son Karan Deol will soon be a married man! He is all set to marry his longtime girlfriend Drisha Acharya. Reportedly, the wedding will take place between June 16-18. The actor, who will next be seen in Apne 2, had his engagement a few months back in a low-key ceremony. The event took place at his grandparents actor Dharmendar and Prakash Kaur’s anniversary.
Karan Deol is engaged to longtime girlfriend Drisha Archarya. According to a Times of India source, “Karan and Drisha’s wedding ceremony will happen between June 16 to 18 in Mumbai. The two have been in a committed relationship for over six years. Earlier this year, after celebrating Valentine’s Day in Dubai, the couple got engaged on February 18. Karan, Drisha and their families are private about their lives and prefer to keep it that way.”
According to reports, Drisha Acharya is
the great granddaughter of acclaimed filmmaker Bimal Roy. She is reportedly based in Dubai and works as a manager at a travel agency. “It’s a classic case of childhood romance,” a source close to the couple told HT, adding, “Yes, an engagement did take place. Drisha is in Mumbai and the couple will soon make their official announcement. The idea is to do a public appearance.” She is the grand-daughter of Bimal Roy's daughter, Rinki Bhattacharya, who was married to filmmaker Basu Bhattacharya. Her mother, Chimoo B. Acharya, who moved to Dubai in 1998, is a former advertising executive and promoter of one of the Middle East's event management companies.
Last year, rumours had been rife that Karan was engaged to Drisha. However, Karan’s team shut down the engagement rumours and said, “Karan and Drisha are childhood friends. The news about them getting engaged is not true.”
