Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah is one of the most vocal critics of the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. He has taken a jibe at the new Parliament opening ceremony. He compared it to PM Modi’s memorial. When asked about the new parliament, he said that “the Supreme Leader wants to build a monument for himself.” Let us tell you that during this he also mentioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi. However, the actor admitted that the new building of the Parliament House was the need of the hour. But he questioned the opening ceremony.
Joining the opposition on
the inauguration ceremony, Naseeruddin Shah said, “The old Parliament was 100 years old, so a new building was needed, but was such a ceremony needed? Where you are including religious aspects in everything.
He said, “You come surrounded by priests like it’s the King of England surrounded by bishops. You come with a scepter. There has to be a limit to delusions of grandeur. I think we’re paying the price for it.” ” Naseeruddin Shah further said that the new building is a symbol of our democracy and I hope it will be successful in preserving our democracy.
