Swara Bhasker known to be vocal about her thoughts takes a dig at BJP Bhopal parliamentary seat candidate Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur. Calling Thakur as a Hindu terror suspect, Swara advised her, wearing saffron doesn’t make anyone a saint.
Swara who was snapped at an NGO program was asked about Pragya Thakur’s candidature in the Lok Sabha Elections she said, “Terrorism has no religion but terrorists do have one. Anyone, including Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Buddhists can be accused of acts of violence and terrorism. Pragya Thakur considers herself a Hindu and is facing terror charges, so she is a Hindu terror suspect.”
Swara further bashed her very elegantly saying ‘wearing a saffron doesn’t make anyone a saint’, she further added
“if she could also wear a saffron sari and would like to be called as Sadhvi Swara Bhasker.”
Pragya Thakur has been accused in the Malegaon blasts case. The blast caused death of six while hundreds were injured in 2006. She is currently out on bail and her candidature has been challenged in the court by the father of one of the deceased in Malegaon.
Meanwhile during ongoing election days, Thakur has been barred from campaigning for 72 hours starting 6 a.m. on Thursday, for seeking votes on religious lines thereby violating the model code of conduct (MCC). Since then she has been issued two notices by the Election Commission — one for her remarks on Babri Masjid during a TV interview and another for making remarks against former ATS chief Hemant Karkare.
