Disha Vakani, known for playing Dayaben in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah, has been absent from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah for several years now. The actor went on maternity leave in 2018 and has not returned since. As per reports, the search for a new Dayaben is nearing its end as the makers have found a new face.

News 18 cited a source close to the show who shared that conducting auditions for the character of Dayaben has finally come to an



end as the makers have found a new face. The identity has not been revealed yet, but she has been shortlisted for the role of Daya. Not just this, the team is currently holding mock shoots with her.

“Yes, it is right. Asit Ji had been looking for a new Dayaben, and recently, one of the auditions impressed him a lot. Mock shoots with the actress are underway. It’s been around a week that she has been here, shooting with us," the source said.
