Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan's sons, Taimur (7) and Jeh (4), visited their father at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday, where he is recovering from surgery. Saif was stabbed six times at his Bandra home by an armed burglar, who has since been arrested by the Mumbai Police.
A video of Taimur and Jeh at Lilavati Hospital was shared by a paparazzo on Instagram. They were accompanied by their mother, actor Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Saif was attacked on January 16 at his home. Mohammad Shariful Islam Shehzad, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national allegedly stabbed the actor during a burglary attempt. He was taken to the hospital by his seven-year-old son, Taimur.
The neurosurgeon who operated on Saif said that the Omkara actor arrived at the hospital in an auto-rickshaw with Taimur and a
caretaker.
"I was the first one to meet Saif Ali Khan when he came to the hospital. He was drenched in blood, but he walked in like a lion with his small child, Taimur. Saif Ali Khan is a real hero," Dr Niraj Uttamani said in a media briefing.
Kareena Kapoor did not accompany her husband Saif to the hospital. A video on social media showed her pacing up and down and speaking to the house staff at the entrance of the building after the stabbing incident.
She later recorded her statement with the Bandra police and told them that the incident left her distressed and scared. Her sister, Karisma Kapoor, then took her to her house.
Kareena also requested privacy during this difficult time in an Instagram post, describing the day of the incident as an "incredibly challenging" day for her family.
