Composer AR Rahman partnered with ACTC Events for India's biggest concert, titled 'Marakkuma Nenjam'. The show took place at Adityaram Studios in Chennai on September 10. Scores of people gathered at the venue, which caused a stampede-like situation and the event organisers were called out for mismanagement. After conducting an investigation, Tambaram police have registered a case against ACTC Events - the organisers of the AR Rahman concert.

Rahman and ACTC Events apologised to the people for the inconvenience caused. Women were allegedly molested, children were displaced and many couldn't enter the venue despite having valid tickets.

Following complaints of tickets being oversold and excessive traffic, Tambaram Police conducted an investigation. According to officials, a case has been registered under sections 188 and 406 of the IPC against the MD of ACTC events, Hemanth Raja, and two others.
